United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan shared that US President Joe Biden will be looking to engage in talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Japan, EDnews informs via BBC.
Talking to reporters, when asked whether the head of state will pressure Lula and Modi to toughen their approach on Russia and China, Sullivan said that Biden doesn't work like that. What he wants to do is seek an opportunity to discuss with them how their countries can constructively support "the most basic and fundamental element of any outcome, which is sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The US official underscored that Biden wants to thank his Brazilian counterpart for supporting "several of the key United Nations General Assembly resolutions" in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
