The number of people who lost their lives in a train accident in the city of Balasore rose to 233, the state of Odisha's chief secretary Pradeep Jena announced, Ednews reports.
"500 Units of blood collected overnight here at Balasore. 900 Units in stock at present. This will help in treating the accident victims. I'm personally indebted & grateful to all the volunteers who’ve donated blood for a noble cause," the official tweeted.
The incident occurred near Bahanaga Bazar railway station when two trains derailed at the stop were hit by another one that was moving in opposite directions.
