President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the 6th Summit of the "European Political Union" can be considered the beginning of a new stage in Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union.During this visit, we observed the disappointment and regret of some European politicians who are jealous of the successes of Azerbaijan, which has resolved our territorial integrity at the expense of its own strength and internal capabilities.

The old continent, which has been forced to accept the new realities created by Baku in the South Caucasus, no longer intends to spoil relations with Azerbaijan because of Armenia, which is weakening day by day and struggling in crisis. They understand the geoeconomic and geopolitical importance of our country, and accept our strategic influence. In this sense, it would be more appropriate and correct to call the President's tour of Albania a triumphant visit.

“EDnews” reports that these thoughts were expressed by the deputy of the Milli Majlis Mehriban Valiyeva in an interview.According to her, the Azerbaijani leader proved to Europe the wrongness of the West's South Caucasus policy, the ineffectiveness of unilateral support for Armenia in the region, and the difficulty of ensuring both energy security and creating favorable communication with Asia without cooperation with official Baku.

Participation in the first meeting of the “European Political Union” held in Prague in 2022 was a turning point in Azerbaijan's diplomatic struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Europe had begun to take steps to resolve the misunderstanding that had arisen in relations with Azerbaijan since the beginning of this year.

In January, the President of the European Union Council Antonio Costa called President Ilham Aliyev and discussed bilateral relations, including transport between the EU and Azerbaijan, the Middle Corridor route, and Azerbaijan's role in Europe's energy security.
