A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Japanese island of Hokkaido, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said on Saturday. Its epicenter was around 107 km from the city of Urakawa and its focus was at a depth of 49.5 km, Ednews informs via foreign media.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage and no tsunami warning has been issued. The earthquake follows an earlier 6.2-magnitude one that struck Hokkaido on Friday, causing light damage.
