Kazakhstan is ready to resume meetings in the Astana format as a gesture of goodwill, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan said, Ednews informs.
"If the participants of international meetings on Syria in the Astana format express a collective request to continue negotiations in Astana, Kazakhstan is ready to consider the possibility of resuming the process as a gesture of goodwill, taking into account the progress of negotiations at other venues and the situation in Syria as a whole," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, the Kazakhstani Foreign Ministry proposed making the 20th meeting on Syria the last one to be held in Astana.
The ministry noted that the gradual withdrawal of Syria from isolation in the region can be regarded as a successful result of the efforts of the Astana process.
