Over $200 billion might have been stolen from two major COVID-19 relief initiatives in the United States, according to the report released by the Small Business Administration's inspector general on Tuesday.
The inspector general's report suggested that at least 17% of all disbursed COVID-EIDL and PPP funds went to potential fraudsters.
The fraud estimate for the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan program exceeds $136 billion, while the estimate for the Paycheck Protection program stands at $64 billion.
