The Venezuelan government condemned on Saturday the United States' latest comments with regard to the elections and eligible candidates in the country, calling them "interference."
It would be better for Washington to "apply timely and fair corrections to its electoral system before seeking to make judgments about the legitimate actions of other countries' democratic institutions," the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared in a statement.
Earlier, the US slammed Venezuela's decision to disqualify Maria Corina Machado, one of the opposition leaders in the South American country, from holding public office for 15 years.
