The European Union and Australia said on Tuesday they did not manage to reach a free trade agreement during the latest round of talks in Brussels.
Australian Trade Minister Don Farrell (pictured) said he is "disappointed" a deal could not be reached during the two-day negotiations. but stressed the two sides are "narrowing down the number of issues in dispute" and remained hopeful an agreement will come over the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the European Commission confirmed progress was made in the talks but noted "more work is required to address key outstanding issues."
