Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday that Moscow will respond to the latest "wave" of sanctions imposed by Washington and Ottawa.
The decision by the United States and Canada is the "best evidence of Joe Biden's administration and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regime's impotence in achieving their goal of bringing down the Russian economy and inflicting a 'strategic defeat' on Russia," Zakharova said, noting that the list of people and entities sanctioned appears to be taken from "telephone directories" compiled by Kiev.
This "confirms the correctness of our course towards strengthening political and economic sovereignty, including avoiding the dollar...ensuring full defense capability and national security," she said.
