Relatives of the Armenian soldiers from the "Chemicals" military unit in Etchmiadzin, who went missing during the 44-day war in Karabakh, blocked Baghramyan Avenue in two sections and demand a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ednews informs via Sputnik-Armenia.
Parents held a similar action on July 19. They were promised a meeting with the prime minister within a week, but it did not happen.
"We will not disperse until our demand is satisfied. We have only two questions - the fate of our sons and the prolonged lawsuit. We want to know what is happening," said Anahit Adoyan, a participant in the action.
She also noted that parents will not apply to international structures and embassies, since the addressee of their questions is the current government and the prime minister of Armenia personally.
The protesters were approached by Yerevan Police Chief Sevan Kocharyan, who offered to organize a meeting with the head of the Military Counterintelligence Department, Colonel David Sanamyan. However, the parents refused, saying that the previous meeting with him was unsuccessful. They demand a conversation exclusively with the head of the government of Armenia.
According to the Armenian government, the whereabouts of 975 citizens are unknown, of which 777 disappeared during the first Karabakh war, and 196 during the 44-day war.
