North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (pictured) met Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu in Pyongyang on Wednesday, North Korean state news agency KCNA reported on Thursday. They discussed matters of security and defense and "reached a consensus" on their views, KCNA said.
Shoygu also delivered a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kim ahead of North Korea's Victory Day, a holiday celebrating the Korean War armistice. The bilateral meeting helped boost ties between Russia and North Korea in the "ever-changing regional and international security environment," KCNA said.
