The Ukrainian forces have been using North Korean rockets in the war against Russia, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said this is likely the result of the troops capturing Russian equipment.
A Ukrainian artillery commander told the FT that North Korean rockets were made in the 1980s and 1990s, adding they are "very unreliable and do crazy things sometimes." North Korea has sought to boost military cooperation with Russia as Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu traveled to Pyongyang and met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un earlier this week.
