The Taiwan Affairs Office of the Chinese State Council denounced on Sunday the United States' decision to provide $345 million in military aid to Taiwan. The package includes drones, air defense systems, missiles, and military education and training, among others.
"Such move is turning Taiwan into a 'powder keg' and an 'ammunition depot,' escalating the risk of military conflict across the Taiwan Straits," the office said, according to China's Global Times. It warned Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party that, "if it continues down this path unimpeded, the young generation can only become cannon fodder."
