Pope Francis on Sunday made an appeal for the revival of the Black Sea Grain Initiative during his weekly address at the Vatican in order to facilitate the safe transportation of grain, which, according to the Pope, can contribute to saving millions of hungry people.
His call comes amid efforts to address the ongoing grain dispute between Russia and other countries involved in the deal.
The pontiff's comments come after Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the country's willingness to return to the grain deal if conditions put forward by Moscow are fulfilled.
