The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund reported on Sunday that its gross assets under management have increased to 2.2 trillion riyals or slightly over $595 billion in 2022. Compared to 2021, the figure was 13% higher.
The fund's annual report also revealed that the fund's local investments stood at nearly $460 billion, while investments outside Saudi Arabia totaled more than $135 billion. The share of international strategic investments declined 10 percentage points from 2021, landing at 10% in 2022, but the share of Saudi equity holdings in assets under management rose by eight percentage points year on year to 32%.
In 2022, loss from investment activities and total compressive loss of the fund amounted to $11.1 billion and $15.6 billion, respectively, falling compared to $19 billion in income from investment activities and $25.47 billion in total compressive income documented in 2021. The fund's total revenue dropped 28% in 2022.
