Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday that Russia intends to continue military cooperation with Iran "despite the demands of their enemies." In an interview with the Iranian Fars News Agency, Ryabkov insisted the bilateral partnership is "completely legal."
"We have the right to expand our military cooperation, and the military departments of the two countries are closely cooperating with each other," Ryabkov said. Russia has been using Iranian-made Shahed drones in the war with Ukraine, among other military equipment. Earlier today, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on several Iranian companies supplying weapons and military components to Russia.
