Ecuadorian congressional candidate Estefany Puente said that she was shot and lightly injured earlier this week.
Puente noted that two men on motorcycles started shooting at her car while she was driving and added a bullet grazed her left arm and shattered her car's windshield. She stressed her father and one campaign staffer were also in the car at the time of the incident.
Earlier this week, Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was killed after being shot three times during a campaign event. The assassination resulted in the country's President Guillermo Lasso declaring a 6-day state of emergency.
