Supporters of the radical Taliban movement, which seized power in Afghanistan, have launched a military operation against the rebel group National Resistance Front in the province of Badakhshan in the north-east of the country, Ednews informs referring to the Hasht-e Subh newspaper.
The operation started on August 12. As a result of the latest clashes, the Taliban killed at least three supporters of the National Resistance Front and captured two more.
Recent weeks have seen an increase in attacks by insurgent groups on Taliban supporters.
