Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu told Financial Times in an interview published on Sunday that his country will join efforts to train Ukrainian pilots to use American-made F-16 jets.
"The logistics are in place, as far as we are concerned," Ciolacu stated and noted he expects to sign the protocols on the matter over the next few days. Earlier this month, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands announced they will provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, while the United States announced it will start training Ukrainian pilots on the aircraft in October.
The Romanian prime minister also said Bucharest will double the capacity of its main Black Sea port of Constanta to help Ukraine export its grain.
