Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (pictured) recalled almost all of the country's "career and non-career ambassadors" around the world, effective immediately, his spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale said on Saturday.
"The president is determined to ensure that world-class efficiency and quality, will henceforth, characterize foreign and domestic service delivery to citizens, residents and prospective visitors alike," Ngelale stated.
The move affects envoys at all Nigerian embassies and consulates worldwide, but will not apply to the country's permanent representatives to the United Nations due to the upcoming UN General Assembly.
