The United States Senate voted on Thursday to confirm economist Adriana Kugler (pictured right) to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
Kugler previously served as the Department of Labor (DoL) Chief Economist under President Barack Obama. In 2022, President Joe Biden appointed her as the US Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
The day before, the Senate's vote confirmed Philip Jefferson as Fed Vice Chair and the extension of Lisa Cook's term on the aforementioned board.
