The United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced on Friday that, on the evening of September 7th, it received a report regarding a helicopter crash near the coast of Dubai.
The incident involved an Aerogulf-owned Bell 212 chopper with registration mark A6-ALD and occurred during a night training session with two pilots onboard, one from Egypt and another from South Africa. Departing from Al Maktoum International Airport, the helicopter plunged into the Gulf Sea.
Search and rescue teams "recovered the wreckage, and the search is still underway for the plane's crew," the GCAA noted. In response to the event, an investigation team was dispatched to examine and assess the accident site.
