Both Washington and New Delhi are looking to maintain a stable relationship with China, United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for the Indo-Pacific Kurt Campbell (pictured) told the reporters on Friday following a meeting that US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had during the eve of the 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit.
However, Campbell pointed out that India is not willing to compromise their security interests for commercial gains. "And we fully support them", he added, highlighting that the "most important bilateral relationship" for the US during the current century "will be with India".
Regarding the encounter, Modi commented on his X account that it was "very productive" as they covered a wide variety of topics "which will further economic and people-to-people linkages" between both countries.
