Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, has pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to three charges related to a firearms purchase he made in 2018.
Biden is charged with possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user or addicted to a controlled substance, of making a false statement in the acquisition of a firearm, and finally making a false declaration to the store where he bought the gun.
He was accused after he walked away from a deal that would have granted him probation for failing to pay more than $2 million in taxes. The felony charges carry a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.
