Two top advisers to United States President Joe Biden visited Saudi Arabia last week with the aim of discussing a possible deal that could involve a peace agreement between the latter country and Israel, Axios reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk and Special Presidential Energy Security Coordinator Amos Hochstein met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and several Saudi officials, and in addition to the deal, they talked about different regional and bilateral topics.
The media outlet also revealed that an NSC spokesman said that the two advisers travel frequently to the Middle East, as it is part of their duties, but declined to comment on last week's trip.
