Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed on Tuesday that its head Sergey Lavrov will be traveling to Beijing to hold a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on October 16-18 to discuss the Belt and Road Initiative.
During his last visit to Russia, Wang noted that both countries are accountable for keeping "strategic stability" around the globe as "leading world powers."
At the same time, Zakharova stated that the arrangements for Lavrov's visit to North Korea are advancing in order to execute the meeting around "a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and the problems of the Korean Peninsula," as well as to treat topics related to trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
