The United States and Mexico reaffirmed in a joint statement that they will continue to work together on the issue of security.
Wrapping up the 2023 High-Level Security Dialogue, the two countries shared they will "intensify our efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking ... the trafficking of illicit firearms, human trafficking and smuggling, and the transnational organized criminal groups that threaten the security of communities on both sides" of the border.
The progress made through the Bicentennial Framework was also assessed during the dialogue, while senior officials from both sides discussed further plans, programs, and actions to protect the population on both ends.
