The Swiss People's Party (SVP) is seen to win 29% of the votes cast in the country's federal election and claim the majority of seats in the lower chamber National Council, Nationalrat, the public broadcaster SRG predicted on Sunday.
According to the projection, the Social Democratic Party (SP) won 17.2% of the ballots, The Centre (DM) 14.7%, the FDP.The Liberals 14.6%, the Green Party 9.1%, and the Green Liberal Party (GLP) 7.1%. Other parties received 2% of the votes or less.
The count on who will take the seats in the 46-member upper chamber Council of States is also underway.
