United States Representative from Florida Matt Gaetz said that the House Republicans "might" have a new speaker tomorrow night, CNN reported after the GOP's candidate forum ended.
"We had some great candidates in there. And we'll go from this current group down to our designee and I hope it's a productive endeavor," he said. Asked who would "support the prompt full release of the January 6 tapes to the public," Gaetz described the response he got from all the candidates to replace Kevin McCarthy as "unifying." Also, he praised Kevin Hern and Mike Johnson's comments.
Likewise, US Representative from Nebraska Don Bacon said that he is certain they "will have a speaker tomorrow night."
