The Iranian Embassy in Russia revealed on Friday that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani (pictured) met with Hamas political official Abu Marzouk in Moscow.
The Iranian diplomat expressed his country's support for the Palestinian people and said that Tehran's priority in negotiations with foreign parties is securing an immediate ceasefire and lifting the blockade of the Gaza Strip, according to the embassy.
Marzouk, whose arrival in Moscow caused criticism by Israel, met yesterday with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and discussed hostage release of and the evacuation of Russian nationals from Gaza, the Russian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.
