United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas started their meeting in Ramallah on Sunday in which they are set to talk about the escalating conflict in Gaza, Ednews reports via AP.
This marks Blinken's first visit to the West Bank since Hamas launched its attack on Israel in October.
During a congressional hearing earlier this week, Blinken expressed the view that, at some point, an effective and revitalized Palestinian government should assume security responsibilities for the Strip.
