Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media on Sunday that Moscow successfully averted an economic collapse that loomed after sanctions were imposed against the country in 2022.
Peskov emphasized that no country in the world had previously faced, or theoretically could withstand such a substantial blow, crediting the country's government for its decisive actions for stabilizing the economy.
"There was a threat of a collapse, we really had to mobilize all resources and internal forces in order to prevent this collapse," Peskov told Russia-1 television channel.
