Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar said on Tuesday that sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia after the beginning of the war in Ukraine had no effect, Ednews informs via Ria Novosti.
"Russia expects economic growth despite the sanctions, while the EU is sliding into recession," Blanar stressed in an interview with Die Presse. He added that these sanctions directly affect the Slovak economy and the living standards.
Furthermore, Blanar noted that further delivery of weapons to Ukraine will lead to the death of more people. "After more than 600 days of war, it looks like a frozen conflict with no military solution," he said and called for a peaceful solution.
