South Korea, the United States and Japan conducted joint naval drills off the Korean Peninsula's southern waters,Ednews reports via Yonhap news agency.
The US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (pictured) joined South Korean Navy destroyers and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's Murasame-class destroyers in the air defense and maritime drill.
The maneuvers came after North Korea's recent launch of a military spy satellite and its claim of capturing images of US Army bases and the USS Carl Vinson, which was stationed in Busan.
