South Korea's opposition leader, Lee Jae-myung, was stabbed during his visit to the city of Busan on Tuesday.
The 59-year-old, who heads the main opposition Democratic Party, was stabbed in the neck. The attack occurred at a news conference, leaving Lee in serious condition, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Although he remained conscious, the bleeding persisted until he was transferred to a hospital approximately 20 minutes later.
