A fire outbreak at Kentainers Company Ltd. in Embakasi, Nairobi occurred after a gas explosion, injuring 298 people, according to a post by the Kenya Red Cross on X, formerly Twitter.
The Standard, a local Kenyan newspaper, reported that the fires that ensued caused two casualties, citing Wesley Kimeto, commander in charge of the police in Embakasi, Ednews reports.
The explosion was also reported by Government Spokesman of Kenya Isaac Mwaura in a social media post, who said that the incident occurred while the company was refilling gas cylinders, adding that the cause of the fire remains unknown. He shared that the company's building has been "badly damaged."
