Ednews informs through Le Monde that the Russian electoral commission rejects anti-war candidate Boris Nadezhdin's presidential bid
The commission refuses to register pro-peace candidate Boris Nadezhdin as a candidate for 2024 presidential election on grounds of faulty support signatures.
"The Central Electoral Commission has refused to register my candidacy", 60-year-old Nadezhdin wrote on Telegram. The body responsible for organising elections in Russia, which is loyal to the Kremlin, has not yet made the decision official, but according to the opponent, there is no doubt about it.
"Taking part in the 2024 presidential election is the most important political decision of my life. I am not going back on my intentions. I will appeal the Electoral Commission's decision to the Supreme Court", he added. The Central Electoral Commission criticises Mr Nadejdine for not having collected the necessary 100,000 signatures from voters supporting him to be able to stand in the presidential election. He claims to have collected 200,000.
