Trump suggests Clinton could be deported over 'evading justice'

World 14:52 01.09.2016

Speaking on Wednesday night to his supporters in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump pledged to create "a special deportation task force" within the existing US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency if he becomes president.

He said his force would be "focused on identifying and quickly removing the most dangerous criminal illegal immigrants in America who have evaded justice – just like Hillary Clinton has evaded justice, okay?"

"Maybe they will be able to deport her," he added.

He stated that his Democratic rival has yet to be held responsible for her email scandal. Clinton has come under fire for using a private email account and server at her home in New York for official emails when during her tenure as secretary of state.

The Democratic presidential nominee has led Trump throughout most of the 2016 presidential campaign. But her lead in recent polls represents a decline in her support. Her declining support has, in large part, been attributed to a series of fierce attacks from the Trump campaign over the past few days.

Clinton is also accused by Trump of doing political favors for some of the people who donated money to the Clinton Foundation when she was in office from 2009 to 2013.

Trump’s campaign on the other hand has also been marked by controversial statements, including with disparaging remarks about Mexican immigrants and Muslims.

He has said he would deport 11 million undocumented workers from the United States and would establish a “deportation force” for this purpose.

The billionaire has also promised to build a wall on the US-Mexico border to prevent immigrants from entering America. In addition, he has vowed to force Mexico to pay for the wall.On Wednesday night, Trump again said Mexico would definitely be paying for the wall along the southern US border, even though Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto told the Republican presidential nominee in a meeting earlier in the day not to count on his country.

"Mexico will pay for the wall, 100 percent. They don't know it yet, but they're going to pay for it," Trump said in Phoenix.

Pena Nieto told the New York billionaire in a meeting in Mexico City that Mexico would not be paying for the wall.

"At the start of the conversation with Donald Trump I made it clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall," he wrote on Twitter. "From there, the conversation addressed other subjects and developed in a respectful manner."

Before Pena Nieto’s tweet, speaking at a joint press conference with the Mexican president, Trump said they had discussed the wall but not how it would be funded.
