Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said during a press conference on Monday that the "intensive phase" of war in the south of the Gaza Strip will end soon while adding that this phase already ended in the northern part of the strip since all of Hamas’s battalions have been defeated.
"IDF troops are focused on the head of the snake, the Hamas leadership. As part of this action … the Khan Younis Brigade is gradually disintegrating as a fighting force," he said, commenting on the situation in the south and warned that "political indecision may harm the progress of the military operation."
Earlier, Gallant noted that Gaza "will be ruled by Palestinians" after the war with Hamas ends.
