Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant (pictured) informed the families of the Gaza hostages late on Wednesday that a potential exchange of prisoners with Hamas was "closer than ever," according to a report by local Channel 12 on Thursday.
The media also reported that CIA Director William Burns has put forward a new proposal, which includes "clearer wording," to facilitate negotiations after the initial phase. This proposal is said to be making progress with representatives from Hamas.
Furthermore, The Times of Israel stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene with the negotiation team today and discuss the proposals put forth by Hamas regarding a potential ceasefire and hostage agreement before a security cabinet meeting.
