An agreement has been reached between Azerbaijan and Latvia to double the annual quota of "Permit" forms exchanged on a bilateral basis in order to increase the participation of carriers in international cargo transportation.
''EDnews''reports, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, that this agreement was reached at the next meeting of the Mixed Commission in the field of international road transportation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, held in Baku on April 23-24.
The event discussed the current state of international cargo transportation by road between the two countries, problems in transportation and ways to solve them.Also, in order to create conditions for more flexible implementation of various types of transportation, a new type of bilateral transit to from a third country "Permit" form has been included in the list of existing permits. Thus, it was agreed to exchange 1000 bilateral transit and 300 bilateral/transit/to/from a third country “Permit” forms with Latvia.
At the same time, the “e-Permit” system, which allows for the electronic exchange and issuance of “Permit” forms, which has been successfully implemented between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, was presented to the delegation. The desire to exchange “Permit” forms electronically with Latvia in the near future was expressed with satisfaction.
In addition, the Latvian delegation got acquainted with the theoretical and practical training process of drivers at the Driver Training Center of AYNA.
