The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has decided to arrest Igor Sargsyan, a representative of the Dashnaktsutyun party leadership, for two months, according to a statement by the Sacred Struggle movement, EDnews reports, citing the Armenian press.
"The representative of the supreme body of the Dashnaktsutyun party was also arrested for two months," the statement said.
Earlier, the court, having granted the motion of the Investigative Committee, chose a two-month preventive detention measure against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. He was charged under articles of the Criminal Code of Armenia on terrorism and seizure of power. The Investigative Committee believes that the Sacred Struggle movement led by Galstanyan planned activities aimed at committing terrorist acts and seizing power in the country. Fifteen more people are charged in this case.
