Azerbaijan’s initiatives and strategic approaches toward the development of sustainable tourism were presented at the annual summit of the Pacific Asia Travel Association,held in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to “EDnews,” this information was released by the State Tourism Agency.Azerbaijan was represented at the summit, held from April 21 to 23, by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
The event, held under the theme “Infinite Wisdom for a Sustainable Future,” brought together government officials, representatives of international organizations, and tourism experts to discuss the role of sustainability as a key direction in the future development of global tourism.
Chairman of the ATB Board, Florian Sengstschmid, spoke during the intergovernmental session about the transformation of governance and policy mechanisms in tourism, innovative regulatory approaches, and principles of sustainable development.
During the event, Azerbaijan’s position was presented in meetings with international partners on the development of environmentally responsible tourism products, the preservation of cultural heritage, and community-based tourism initiatives.
