The Chairman of the Supreme Court, Inam Karimov, paid a visit to Hangzhou, People's Republic of China on April 22-23.
EDnews was informed about this by the Supreme Court.As part of the visit, Inam Karimov first held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme People's Court of China, Zhang Jun.
The Chairman provided detailed information on the judicial and legal reforms and innovations carried out in Azerbaijan. The meeting emphasized the importance of mutual exchange of experience in the judicial system, as well as discussed issues of mutual interest and prospects for cooperation in the judicial field between the two countries.
Later, Inam Karimov attended the 20th meeting of the chairmen of the supreme courts of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The meeting discussed expanding cooperation in the judicial field within the organization.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, speaking, emphasized the importance of the meeting in terms of establishing long-term legal cooperation between friendly countries. It was noted that this platform creates a great opportunity to hold joint discussions, share experiences aimed at progress, and take steps towards an innovative future.
It was noted that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, progressive reforms are being carried out in the judicial and legal system in our country. As a result of the work done in this direction over the past period, numerous changes have been made to the legislation, and these changes have made a significant contribution to the development of the judicial system in Azerbaijan.
Inam Karimov also made a speech on the topic of “Legal applications of artificial intelligence”. It was noted that artificial intelligence provides broad opportunities for legal systems. It reduces the workload and increases access to justice. It was also emphasized that artificial intelligence should not replace the role of the judge, but should serve as a supporting tool, and legal decisions should always remain within the authority of experienced judges.
After discussing specific issues, a Joint Statement of the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was signed with the aim of jointly promoting the rule of law, protecting human rights and freedoms, and strengthening mutual cooperation.
