Two years ago, during the 44-day war, Ganja, the second largest city of Azerbaijan, located kilometers away from the war zone, was repeatedly bombed by the criminal Armenian army. Out of 13 rockets fired at the city, 8 exploded and killed people. Two years ago - on the night of October 11, Ganja was fired from prohibited weapons for the 4th time. Additionally, it was a gross violation of the humanitarian ceasefire announced on October 10, 2020.
Targeting the civilian population while they were sleeping once again confirmed the terrorist nature of Armenia. Children, women, and old people were killed at night. Only in the city of Ganja, as a result of indiscriminate fire, 26 civilians died and became victims of Armenian fascism. During these events, 4 children belonging to 3 families lost both of their parents. This was a continuation of the Khojaly genocide that happened in the cold February of 1992 when civilians were killed.
With these war crimes, Armenia grossly violated the norms and principles of international law, the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, as well as the decisions and resolutions of the UN Security Council. Although these crimes are reflected in the reports of some human rights organizations, no legal and political assessment has been given to the incident in the last two years.
The report of the representatives of the Human Rights Watch organization, which came to the region during the war following Azerbaijan's invitations, entitled "Armenia's Unlawful Missile Strikes on Azerbaijan", stated: "During the war that took place in September-November 2020, Armenian military forces illegally used cluster weapons. They killed everyone without distinguishing between the military and the civilian population. In November, HRW experts, who investigated the incident sites, documented 11 incidents showing the use of ballistic missiles and large-caliber artillery weapons by the Armenian armed forces. It was found that civilians or civilian objects were attacked by rockets during at least four separate incidents.
Amnesty International's report on the attacks against the civilian population during the 44-day war states that the organization documented eight strikes by the Armenian armed forces on the cities and villages of Azerbaijan, which resulted in the deaths of 72 civilians: "During the 44-day war from September to November, the Armenian side violated international humanitarian law and targeted the civilian population, resulting in the death of many innocent people". After the war, foreign journalists and representatives of the diplomatic corps who came to Ganja saw the traces of the crime here and had the opportunity to communicate with the victims. It became clear to them that the Azerbaijani Army not only liberated its lands from the occupation as a result of the Second Karabakh War but also destroyed Armenian fascism and terrorism.
However, it is not enough to see or meet. The silence of the West regarding the war crimes of Armenia is regrettable. The fact that even 1 of the war criminals in Armenia was not prosecuted during the last 2 years is an indication of the policy of double standards. The impunity of Armenia during the 30-year occupation caused this country to become even more depraved. Today, the West, which immediately reacts to the crisis in Ukraine, demonstrates its non-objectivity by leaving Armenia's war crimes unpunished. International organizations violate the principle of justice by not taking any steps in order to punish the terrorist.
During two years, several appeals were made to numerous international organizations regarding Armenia's intensive war crimes. All the facts are sufficient to take appropriate punitive measures against the military and political leadership of Armenia. Armenia must answer for all war crimes, including the Ganja terror.
