A new commander has been appointed to the Russian Peacekeeping Contingent (RPC) in Karabakh, Ednews reports citing Armenia's Hraparak.
"The Russian government has decided to recall the commander of peacekeepers in Karabakh, replacing Andrey Volkov with another person.
The rank of the new commander is colonel-general, he is a skilled serviceman who participated in Russian wars and is known for his will and qualities in the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. He is one of the most trusted people of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, with whom he worked for many years. He is coming to settle the situation,"
It was informed that Volkov is already preparing to leave and it is expected that the new team will arrive in Karabakh in the near future.
