The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) has released a statement, Ednews reports.

AFFA statement says that the display of the puppet regime’s “flag” in the area where the game was held during the 35th minute of the Armenia-Croatia game within the framework of the EURO-2024 qualifying round on September 11, 2023, is strongly condemned and it is demanded of Football Federation of Armenia to prevent such and the other acts that tarnish the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as take measures to prevent its fans from such acts.

“We also state that this is not the first time that the said acts have been committed. As AFFA, we do and will state our complaints in front of UEFA and other superior organizations regarding the use of football as a political tool. By appealing to UEFA, we hope that the organization will make a fair decision regarding the mentioned issue.

We note once again that sports games should not be used as a tool for political actions," the statement reads.
