"Last time, on 16 July 1992, I left my home in Aghdam with my family," says Ilkana Goja, a lady from Agdam, Karabakh, having returned her homeland from Netherlands.
Now I have finally returned my land. I express gratitude to the Diaspora committee for the organization of this trip, for the creation of opportunity for me to visit my home. At the same time, I bow before our soldiers and martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our lands. I also thanked our president. He has repeatedly called on Azerbaijanis living abroad. As a result of his perseverance, strong policy and strategy, our lands have been liberated. Due to his strong determination, I could visit my home. He has taken strong steps for Azerbaijan. He has liberated Karabakh from occupation.
I live in Netherlands. When I return, I will try to reach the realities what I have seen and the ruins of the devastated Aghdam city to the attention of community in Netherlands. Today, during the two and a half hours with employees of ANAMA, I came to my yard. Unfortunately, I could not find my home. It has been completely destroyed. Even I could not find any traces of my home. There are only stones left.
