"Fighter ajets performing the functions of NATO's air police in the Baltic countries took off 15 times from June 5 to 11 to identify and escort aircraft belonging to the Russian Federation violating the international airspace over the Baltic Sea. This is the most weekly since the beginning of the year. is the maximum number of turns," the information says.
According to the information of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, NATO fighter jets carried out flights to identify and escort IL-20, AN-72, AN-30, SU-27, SU-24 aircraft flying to Russia and returning to the region through the international airspace departing from the Kaliningrad region of Russia. It was emphasized that the Russian planes flew without a flight plan and an activated radar transponder and did not maintain radio contact with the Regional Flight Control Center.
