South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol (pictured) nominated on Thursday Kim Yung-ho as the new unification minister.
Kim, political science and diplomacy professor, said at a press conference that he will do his "best to handle the North Korean nuclear issue with principles and build a foundation for improving South-North relations," according to the Yonhap News Agency.
He also noted that liberal democracy should be the basis of peaceful reunification.
